Some hotels are memorable for the facilities inside. At Chintakiri Resort, it’s outside that makes this place so special, and the most wonderful sea views which it has.
We stayed at Chintakiri Resort Koh Tao way back in 2015. It’s an incredibly beautiful resort, overlooking Chalok Baan Kao Bay, just a couple of minutes walk from the beach.
The Deluxe Double Room
We opted for the deluxe double room at Chintakiri Resort Koh Tao – it’s slightly more expensive than the superior double but comes with the added bonus of a sea view.
The rooms were clean, with modern decor, good storage, walk in shower, plenty of hot water and a balcony. There were umbrellas (good for the rains, but equally to keep the sun off), slippers, a safety deposit box, and toiletries provided. Though, it’s the balcony which is the star of this room – with glorious views but a feeling of being in the middle of nature in the tree tops.

There’s also a beautiful pool, again with stunning views over the bay, and always enough empty sun loungers.
Accessibility at Chintakiri Resort
Chintakiri Resort is built on a hill – there are a number of steps to access the resort so if mobility is an issue Chintakiri might not be the best option. But if a few steps are manageable you’re rewarded with the most wonderful views (I might have mentioned this once or twice already…).
How Much Does Chintakiri Resort Koh Tao Cost?
We stayed at Chintakiri Resort back in February 2015 and paid around £40 per night for one of their deluxe room bungalows.
It looks like the going rate is now closer to £65 but I think that’s still great value for such a beautiful resort. (For reference I checked the room rate for February 2027 on 14.10.2026)
Prices will obviously vary depending on the room, dates and board basis, so it’s worth checking both the hotel and booking sites before booking.
You can check current prices and availability through the hotel’s official website or compare deals on Booking.com.
Would We Stay at Chintakiri Resort Koh Tao Again?
Oh Yes!
The resort is still really great value for money. There’s a chance it could be a bit worn since we last visited, after all, it’s eleven years since we stayed. Or it could have had a refresh and be quite different inside. But those views are unlikely to have changed much, and that’s what makes this place so special. Koh Tao is a wonderful island, so I really hope we get the chance to return once more. And I would be delighted to stay at Chintakiri.
